hi all another problem with my scoob its a 1998 uk wagon the car steamed up so badly this morning i had the heater on full (heat) and it made it worse

i wiped with a cloth and went on a run with it blowing cold it cleared

when i got home i turned it to full again and it steamed up in 5 seconds and smells of coolant so im thinking matrix or pipe to matrix

has anyone done one before?? how hard to do and cost of new matrix???

 

i have done one its not an easy job all the center console clocks dash have to come out all the wiring under the dash has to be disconnected you have to drop the steering column just to remove the dash remove strengthening beam that runs the width of the car thats just to get to the matrix remove intercooler disconnect matrix pipes if you dont have aircon the matrix and its plastic casing will come out easily if you do job yourself label up where all screws etc fit because there is a lot of them but for a quick fix remove inter cooler join matrix pipes together using a bit of copper pipe and dont give your car a lot of pasty hope this helps
