Hi all, I changed my spark plugs on my 99 uk turbo 2000 on Sunday I removed the denso ones and fitted my new ones is it normal to see the rear 2 plugs are a lot more worn than the front two?Does this indicate a further issue, or should I not be to bothered. At the minute I'm putting it down to the fact the front two chambers are probley running slightly cooler so not working the plugs so hard. Am I anywhere near??
Thanks
Thanks

Sounds a little odd - I would have expected them to look roughly the same. Might be worth running the new plugs for a bit then taking them out to check again to see if they are different than the front ones - if so then I would get a compression check done to rule out any piston / ring issues just in case
Also, did you check the gaps before fitting the new ones? Should be 0.6mm or 0.7mm iirc... I found my new set all needed re-gapping before fitting - not by much but it was worth checking
Hope that helps a bit

Yeah I checked the gaps all 0.7mm.
I could do a compression check tommorrow, I did think about that, but I thought it runs too well to have a low comp. On both banks.
I think I'll run them a few hundred miles or so and check them again
thanks for the input pal

Oh yeah another thing that puts my off a comp. Test, the plugs had done about 40k and were clean as a whistle, looks like everythings ok! Just seems a bit strange to me to.
