STI has better brakes and gearbox, and more power as standard.

Forget the WRX, an STi is better and has loads more potential for further modification and upgrading.

Attached are a few links for you to read

Unless you want a sportwagon go for the STi. It's better than buying a WRX and then spending a fortune trying to get it to handle stop and go as well as the STi.

ETA: If i wanted to do it again and i was desperate for the space of a Sportwagon but wanted the go of an STi it would have to be a version 7 Bugeye STi wagon, and they are as rare as S202's.

STI's are worth the extra money and will save you dosh in the long term if you are planning on modifying it
