Default Cutting out

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know what would cause my car to have like a small misfire and cut out,This happens when you are
driving along normal(drives fine) and you put the foot down, the check engine light comes on and the car cuts out.The car is a 98 sti ra.
Once ive freewheeld to the side of the road give it a minute or two and the car starts again whith no checklights
on.
Could it be fuel pump, plugs or some sensor.

Im going out today to have a look at her,I'll go for a drive to see if the hesitation/missfire occurs on full boost
or just before full boost......

Gus

I checked the car out today for leaking pipes etc but all looks ok,so im thinking maybe the fuel pump, its a walbro but its probably around 6 year old and does sound a tad noisey.

Also,i took the car out for a good hard run today and there was no sign of hesitation

Did you get it fixed at all? like a map tweak or summit

I checked the Pfc for fault codes and there was none present,i think i'll change the fuel filter and pump just for peice of mind.

Hi , Mines been doing this for weeks without the CEL coming on when it did come on i checked the codes and its looking like the MAF sensor , Have you checked the error codes by connecting the two black connectors together and reading the codes , if you don,t know how or where they are go to this site

http://www.jollygreenmonster.com/error_codes.asp.htm

Then post your error codes for some ideas .
