Is this a 'feature' of the newage Impreza?

I've had a few classics and never had a weak fan blower, but the one on my 02 STI makes all the right noises but blows out a really weedy amount of air!

Or is there a known fault that may have occured? Had a search and couldn't find anything.

As I said above, turn the **** and you can hear the motor going faster but the air being blown out is pathetic really.

 

Of all the cars 13 cars I've owned (none newer than 1995 M reg), I'd place the Impreza's (a MY93 Classic though) as "better than average/good", if that means anything to you.

Your anecdotal description suggests it's playing up... or that New Age ones are simply just worse/crap.

 

Oops sorry - just seen you've already owned Classics, so I'm telling you stuff you already know. That'll teach me to speed-read the post.

 

think there all bad on newages you hear the blower working but not a lot off air comes out off the top dash vents

yep mate will be later in the year wifes fiesta needs replacing so goin for the focus rs in frozen white she aint made her mind up yet or a zetec s the limited one fiesta im gonna buy a cosworth 3 door old school

 

behind the compartment on the passenger side of the dash, there is a filter that stops the dust and leaves and so on going through. check that because they can get really crapped up and stop air getting through.

The new RS in White - and indeed a 3-dr Sierra Cossie (get it in white too - you just gotta! ) - are two of my, many, all time favourite cars!

 

hope so the missus is swaying to the fiestaalthough a nice car especialy as the new ones are limited to 500 not bothered what she does gona be a long search for a mint cosworth had every hot hatch ford have made except focus let the search begin

Have you checked the pollen filter isnt blocked/dirty?

 

Will be purchasing a new pollen filter tomorrow as I'm pretty sure that's what it'll be then, especially as you can hear the motor going hard so I'd assume it's clogged.
