Need to remove it really I think, seeing as you'll need to line the gaskets(x4) up.

Not sure which ones your fitting but most of them need gaskets top and bottom, certainly the Carl Davey ones do anyway.

Cheers

No, only 4 required, there's only 2 gaskets there as standard. Only adding 2 extra surfaces.

believe its of more use for when you need a little more space when fitting a bigger inlet pipe for the big turbos as its a little tight under there so i believe .

it does both of the above, my main aim is to keep the inlet temp down as much as possible

spacers can also cause problems with the inlet slipping off the turbo as it changes the angle of the inlet.

Easy solution, don't bolt the inlet pipe to the inlet manifold.

Think that makes sense.

When I spoke to API re mods, they said they produce (or buy in?) their own IM spacers with built-in "o-ring" style seals either side, so no extra IM spacers either side needed - a nice elegant solution. These are around £90 - i.e. the same ballpark price as a set of CD spacers + the 4 gaskets.
