braking problem
hi all ive got an 02 wrx and recently when braking the pedal goes hard was thinking it could be faulty/leaking vacum hose had a quick look today and doesnt seem to be the problem. Fault doesnt happen all the time and there also seems to be good braking effort when the fault does hapen not hard pedal and no brakes as you would expect.
Not sure what to do next or what to look at any help or ideas would be great cheers in advance

discs and pads all round about 3 months ago (grooved dics and yellow stuff pads). The problem seems to varey at first i thought it was only when the car was on boost so thought it could be a non return valve but recently has been hapening when not on boost as well. Symptom is pedal goes hard when braking some times but no braking effort is lost brakes still work well, also at first feels like abs is working through pedal you get a slight pulse in it then pedal seems to loosen off and goes to the floor as if braking in a car without a fault.
