as above
what bhp are they good for?
ive heard the newage sti engines are good for 450bhp max..
but recently heard from a member that the bugeye sti engines maybe slightly different from the blobs
so just wanted to check as i plan a power hike to 380-400bhp soon and dont really want to be at the limits of the engine as it is hitting 90k soon.
might be best keeping an eye out for a forged engine from an abandoned project just in case..
cheers

Eddy,
Mine is running 450 (453) for an everyday car. The engines are good for 450.
Ok mine has only had this power for the last month or so but is used everyday still and is fine.
How many times you going to use the full 450bhp and 1.65bar etc?
Look after the engine and it will look after you.

From what I have read the 03sti on are very good, and 05sti's seem to perform even better.
The 03sti revamp from bug to blobeye made some very significant mechanical changes to the car, making the 03sti the one to buy.
The 03sti on engines as far as I know have the same internals as the jdm models as far as pistons, crank and avcs.
dipster.

I too have heard the 03 STi to be the best engine to get. Also I read somewhere some time ago that the best ones for some reason or another was a cars build between the months of April - July 2003??
I was under the impression that the internals of the JDM and UK/Euro spec STi of the year (2002) of car Eddy has are the same. Only changes in terms of the engine would be the ECU itself.
Dipster it's all info mate so more the better.
