i've recently become the owner of 1997 V4 type-r and was wondering what boost it should or can be run with the below spec

no proof of the forest remap / turbo was included so im a bit dubious to these, would the turbo have any markings on it?

to be honest i haven't really taken it past 4k revs as i wanna get it remapped 1st to make sure everything is as it should be,

it does feel very flat and unresponsive to this point compared to my cousins old 2.5 type-r with standard turbo (lag was almost non existant) but im hoping it will really get going after 4k,

whats needed to achieve the high 300's, bigger tmic and injectors?

for high 300s mate you want atleast 550cc injectors a decent fmic will help achieve more torque than a top mount you will be best to get a fuel pressure reg and an uprated clutch. to help things along a lighter set of pulleys and flywheel wont do much harm either also if you are running the apexi ecu you will be required to buy an additional boost controller such as hks apexi or greddy,

but think very carefully about the power you want and useage ect on standard internals and gearbox.

all the mods mentioned i can offer fitting on at very very competitve prices

thanks for the offer but i do have a black avc-r from my old s14a, am i right in thinking they're universal and not car specific,

forgot to say it does have a fuel pressure regulator on it

whats the max boost this setup is capable of?

thanks for all the advice guys

yes you are correct the avcr is the best it gets with independant boost controllers and is yes any car fitment.

as for boost amount i wouldnt like to say but i know people tend to only like 1.3- 1.5 bar on standard internals however your 20g is capable of much more the skys the limit bud

is there anyway of identifying my turbo on the housing as theres no proof in the bills and service history for an "uprated" turbo

is that 1.3-1.5 on a standard turbo or my td05-20g?

will 1.5 on the 20g flow more air than 1.5 on a standard tubby, if so will i have to run lower boost on mine to keep the standard internals happy

all i know is what it said on the for sale ad mate (td05-20g)

also would the old settings from my s14a avc-r (set at 1.4bar) be suitable as some kind of base for this car, they're both 4 cylinder motors just this one revs to 8k so may just need a tweek?
