Noob with virginal problems
Hi guys, firstly im loving the forum, there is a wealth of knowledge on here but I still cant seem to suss my problem so im hoping some of you wiser people can help me.
I have just obtained my first Scooby after wanting one for some time, admittedly its not in the best condition but for my first step onto the scooby ladder it'll do for an entry level model.
I have the 1994 1.6 2wd Impreza LX, it has the full wrx kit and tail fin etc so it looks good and is stickered up as a R.Burns replica.
I have so far discovered the following problems and need some help:
1. Flat spot between 2 and 4k on rev counter, was informed this could be MAF but as no sticker I dont know what im asking for, airbox has been removed and a filter fitted, all I can tell you is that if you feather the throttle its ok but slow pick up, put your toe down and it struggles.
2. Rear offside spring snapped
3. Drivers door lock has been screwed, not a huge deal to fit a lock just a pain in the rear.
4. When starting, turns over ok but seems a little 'weak' to fire, maybe plugs?
5. Rear arches are rusted but nowt a welder and a bit of plate wont fix.
6. Nearside driveshaft is shot but as car came with a pair its not really an issue.
The MAF problem is my only biggie at the minute, can any of you help me source a new one assuming of course that this is the problem, any help/information/maintenance tips whatsoever would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

my other halfs non turbo had the same hesitation problem. moved the knock sensor. have a look at www.imprezasport.net
