knock sensor
#2
It will likely be in the same place as on an EJ20, so bolted to the block behind the no. 4 cylinder, underneath and to the left of the throttle body.
However, you would be strongly advised not to move it. The knock detection system on these cars is tuned to work with the sensor in the standard location. Mounting it elsewhere has the potential to introduce either unwanted extraneous noise or to reduce the system's sensitivity to the things you need it to be picking up.
I know less than nothing about the normally aspirated cars but would suggest that "hesitation" is unlikely to be caused by the knock sensing system.

ok, thankyou for the advice, as its N/A and only a small lump do you have any ideas what could be causing the hesitation, also I have a pic of the bigger lump and there is no sensor where it is shown on the bigger engines
