Default serious engine problems v2 sti ra

My big ends have gone on my car and im wondering what to do? I cant afford to spend thousands getting it going again and dont know enough to even think about taking the engine apart. I have been told to forget about it as a re ground crank is rubbish. Is this true or is it just as good? Who could i give the engine too and trust them not to rip me off? Am i best to buy a new engine all together or just bin the car?

Have it rebuilt........some places do a fixed price rebuild so you know what the costs are upfront

I dont know how to do that as im pretty useless with computers. Its on ebay as a classified ad for £2100. Id sell for 2 grand but its not worth selling it if its worth any less than that. I only been driving it for two weeks. Thats £500 a week loss. Maybe i should have hired a ferarri instead. Thanks for the info mate.

Blimey that looks like a clean looking car

And in the best colour as well

My bugeye is in need of some TLC which will come to a few grand....so some one like me might call it a day and buy yours

Can you just post up the VIN number

Best of luck, any links to the original sale ??

Its no concorse car mate, i have yet to see an ra that is. That said its certainly no dog either. I got it off ebay a couple of months ago at the most with a 2.2 engine and blown head gaskets. I spoke to andy forrest about it while my pals car was getting mapped and he said that a 2.2 should at the very least have a remap which as you will know better than me cant be done on my ecu. So i decide the quickest and cheapest option was to find the engine that was meant to be in the hole. Sold the 2.2 bottom end on ebay and the guy who got it told me it was a standard 2.2 non turbo, pistons and all!! Got another engine on here from a car that i went and heard running before removal. You know the rest. Gc8028743 would be the number
