Default Coughing an spluttering

Hi there, needing a bit of advise, I've a 04 sti it's got the aem long arm induction kit, hks exhaust full system, and all the cats have been removed.
The problem started once I got it remapped, it was put on the rolling road an mapped to 312bhp 319lb torque, (1.8 bar)which I thought was ok, expected a bit more.
Now the problem is in 5th an 6th gear at around 3k rpm and I floor it it'll cough an splutter, not very nice, I've already had it back and they sorted it a bit but it's going on wed to hopefully get sorted, but they've told me that it'll prob lose power, I'm not pleased as I've seen other subs with the same mods putting out alot more.
Is this a bad remap or does the subs work like this?
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks
oh and it's got a walbro fuel pump

1.8 bar ???

On the standard turbo ?

Sounds way too high and beyond what the std ecu will control.

The low rpm boost spluttering you mention is probably compressor surge if it is trying to get that sort of level of boost.

Still using the VF35 turbo?
Is the power at the wheels?
Was the AEM fitted after the remap?
Turning the poor little VF35 to a hot 1.8 bar and only getting 312 bhp (fly) suggests a problem needs sorting out.
if you have no confidence in the remapper then try someone else.

Thanks for replying, the car has the standard turbo on it and nothing has been put on after the remap. From what I've read that 1.8bar is too much but the mapper had good feedback from many people which makes me wonder why has he done this?
The 312bhp was at the flywheel which isn't much more than a ppp, I thought It should be in the 320s at least.
What bhp should I expect? And what pressure should the turbo be running?

If that is on the std ecu then 1.8 bar is a massive overboost and not something that the std ecu can control.

Normally 1.5 bar peak tailing off to 1.3 at the top is a good profile for good power if the mixtures and timing are right.

Got the same problem on my car,its a v5 my99 uk classic and also has a vf35 from an 05 sti fitted and mapped to the car.i only got the symptoms after replacing the standard turbo/intake hose with an uprated silicone version after discovering a 40mm rip in the oem one near the turbo.hopefully getting it sorted next week when i see the mapper, from what i`ve read and been told the vf35 is notorious for this behaviour and is made worse with an induction kit and silicone intake hose..OF WHICH I HAVE BOTH.

They said it was a common problem with subs, they turned the boost down till 1.6 bar, didn't get a new power figure as they done it on the road but it still feels as quick, going to get a power run done, just going to drive it and have a bit of fun
