Default fitting a scoobyecu socket

hi all,

Ive cocked this up once so i wanna make sure i get it right this time (didnt have a de-solder gun last time).....
Im going to fit a scoobyecu socket into my classic z4 ecu.
The ecu is doubled sided pcb and i can see that some of the socket pins will have wires going to them on BOTH sides of the board. Do i need to make sure that the socket pins make contact on both sides of the board with solder? obviously you cant get in to solder both sides of the board once the socket is in place. I pressume I must make sure that the solder dribbles through each pcb hole to make contact with the pin and board on the other side yes?

help!

andy

It is probably easier to buy an ECU with the socket already fitted (It doesn't matter which ECU is used, obviously a 4plug ECU) - look on ebay aroubnd £40, as once the J1 resistor is cut it no longer uses the ECU info anyway. Then sell the Z4 as it is the most desirable of the 4plug ECUs.

yeah i thought about using a 7d but i read somewhere a uk ecu in jdm car would give a CEL. Yes i also would prefer to keep my z4 ecu as is, that was the plan until i buggered up my w6 ecu with my first attempt.
