pre facelift speedo hell - it no work
Speedo worked fine, changed dials and the needle at low speeds looked as though it was sticking. Took apart, removed the black mph converter, still doing it, checked the cable back to gear box all intact and finally yesterday tried a different cluster and still not right.
Each time I pull it apart is reacts slightly different.
Problems:
Does not register and then flys up to just under 40mph and hovers there.
At high speeds it's fine and gives the right reading
Low speeds gives wrong speed
Cable was changed by previous owner and looks fairly new. Are these easy to damage? Could it need another? Wondering how hard it would be to go digital

Could be cable damage especially at the gearbox end. The only way to know is to take it off and check for free rotation. More likely to be cable related since TWO clusters are doing the same.
No, it's not easy to go digital, nor is it cheap.
