Hey all quick Query.
I have a polar performance chip which had been setup for decat, uprated headers, VF34 Turbo, Uprated injectors / fuel pump and a FMIC... now i have all these ready to be fit except the FMIC... would it be 'unsafe' to run this chip without the FMIC or will it not make that much difference
Thanks
Dan

If its a standard Polar chip it won't be set up for a FMIC. From what I remember they were for use with a fairly basic car but could cater for a decat and IK. They upped the boost to around 16psi, removed the 112mph limiter and adjusted the fuelling/ignition maps, don't think it allowed for an uprated fuel pump - or is your chip something different?
As for you Q if it is a chip specifically designed for the mods you list, it will be expecting colder air into the throttle body thatn the standard TMIC can provide, also it will have been setup to allow for the longer dely in cold air reaching the inlet.
Personally I would drive the car but not on boost - if you are not fitting the FMIC anytime soon I would hold fire on all the mods till you can fit the parts the chip needs.

Ok bud thats what i was thinking, and it has 2 chips in there with a 'JSport' logo on?
I got the parts and ECU from Mattybr5, who said they cater for them specific mods. I was going to run an open turbo with a custom made air intake and filters which i used on my last track car which was a much colder air feed , less restriction but still filters the **** out.

by the sounds of it you have not got a polar performance chip, IIRC scott.t/polar performance used to to produce a daughter board solution using 2 chips to emulate the 27c1028 chip, he hasn't used the 2 chip method for many years, this is what a polar performance chip looks like
