Default Prodrive Non-turbo Exhasut on a Turbo

Bought a 2.0 Sport Prodrive backbox by mistake. Will it fit my turbo? Will it work or will my engine blow it to smithereens?

Thanks

API Dave said to me that the Prodrive b.b. designed for a turbo Impreza is a restrictive beast... So by that rationale I'd expect the NA jobbie to fair even worse on a turbo car!! It prob has an inlet pipe of less than 2.5" dia., right?

Get rid, and get something more suitable and freer flowing IMHO...

Don't know about flow rates of the exhausts, but it should physically fit ok.. Seem to remember people have fitted turbo exhausts to non turbo cars, so should work the other way ?

I'm sure it'll fit and 'work' okay.

Just that it could be detrimental to power/torque, and may even cause potentially dangerous heat build-up further up the system......??

Not sure what size exhaust the sport has, think the Impreza turbo was 2.25 inches and the Prodrive exhaust was 2.5 inches with a 3 (or 3.5) inch back box, so it could be different (looks slightly different too )
As for being restrictive, no not really, if your pushing 270bhp its ok, if your pushing 300bhp it will be restrictive, but as UK cars were hitting the limit at around 270bhp it wasnt bad, and it didnt kill your ear drums

True, but it could be a problem with the Vf28, sti intercooler and other bits in the garage! Will try and fit her and see what happens!

Seems to line up ok, it is a straight through so there are no split pipes inside and is 2.5" bore like the rest of my system, will wait until the gasket arrives before having a go!

It should fit straight on,no probs as prodrive dont dont do a 3' system only 2.5' with 3.5' tailpipe, and it will sound better than the std system.
