Default 03 STI Starting problems, turn over very fast for about 5 seconds before starting ok.

As above in subject, does this every time now. Takes about 5 seconds of turning over before car catches and starts, Runs fine after that. Well after a few minutes when car is warmed up.

Any ideas please?

When you go for a start turn the ignition on and wait for 5 secs or so (listen for fuel pump noise to reduce indicating fuel system is up to pressure) then try starting. This may not be answer but it sounds like a lack of fuel, this may be due to dud temp sensor kidding the ECU to have the wrong start conditions.

Agree with both of the above, especially in the hot weather - fuel evaporation in the lines
