Default help on injectors (440's)

Thinking of upgrading from the 380 injectors to 440's in my 95 wrx jdm pre facelift. Are these just a straight swap as im sure i saw in a old post somwhere that u need adapters for them ? also is there anything else i need to take into consideration when these are fitted

depends which phase engine they cam from. if there out of a phase 2 engine you will need adapters but if they were from a phase 1/1.5 engine they should be a direct fit.

Ph.2 yellows perform better than Ph.1.5s... so best off getting Ph.2s and an adaptor kit.

The injector caps have been overlooked here.....the phase 2 injector cap is different to the phase 1 or 1.5.....and the earlier caps will not fit over the phase 2 injectors.

Advisable to source some of these later caps too which will be a direct fit onto the earlier rails.

Yes - good point. Totally forgot about that.

csfz, you must ensure you get hold of a set of ph.2 metal 'half moon' retaining caps too...

Thanks

What's the reason you are putting bigger injectors in Crazyspeedfreakz?

easiest way is to look at the tip were the fuel comes out as early phase 1/1.5 are longer tips than phase 2 onwards

I'll take a look but its hard to tell unless you have something as a guide. How long are the longer tips? All I have is the 4 yellow injectors, not even the old 380s out yet.

Why not just take a picture and post it up on another thread of your own mate and we'll tell you what they are. Easier that way and no uncertainty.

I'd love to but cant post pics . Anyway I emaited pics to Prodriverules in this thread and he confirmed that they are phase 1/1.5. BUT I found the PM from when I bought the injectors and asked the guy I bought them from and he said they were phase 2!!!. There must be an easier way of telling which injectors are which???
Can anyone post up a pic of both types with a description of which is which?
