the spring has weakened.

contacting forge is one option.

Other is get the uprated spring kits for about £18 and fit a replacement spring

I,d recommend reverting back to the standard Subaru recirculating valve. More reliable and probally more efficient. Steve.

most likely the forge one is a diaphragm dump valve and therefore overtime the spring will weaken and not close quick enough, you could buy a stronger spring kit as others have suggested, but you could also just buy another dump valve, such as blitz and baileys which has double pistons closing it instead of a diaphragm and is stronger.

I have forge on mine, and have put in stronger spring. Doesn't go off hardly at all. Which gives you chatter.
The only reason i fitted forge as it fitted to my intercooler after changing to an STi8 on a classic, and no room for recirc

Being as your car is pulling 1.4 bar the std spring will struggle with that after a while, and as you can't adjust the forge dv,it will eventually weaken. It does contain 2 Springs which counterbalance each other so either 1 might be knackered ,would not suggest a baileys as they have twin pistons and are quite prone to failure. The blitz has a rubber diaphragm and a single piston and is good up to 1.2 Bar,but can be adjusted up to 1.5 bar before needing to uprate the spring.if you can live without the noise, then as suggested above fit a std recirc valve, they rarely fail, and good for 350+ bhp and more importantly cause no running issues imho .

Sorry to hijack,

If I was to change the spring strength in my Forge DV would I need to get the map looked at?

Ideally yes, as Mrchips said,

And there for means you run leaner for longer due to the DV not dumping as often, by how much or little, i have no idea

I had a forge one on my last car and they have a rubber membrain in them, like a gasket basically, and mine got split due to running more presure which resulted in the same thing as you are explaining. however springs for them are only around £10 and i belive they will supply you with a new membrain
