noob with a poorly scoob
hey guys, im new to this forum and have been doin abit of research for the problem iv got, gratefull for any help.
i have a gc8 2000 turbo with overheating trouble, started when the top hose burst i changed the hose and refilled, and bled the system and all was ok...for a while. It started to overheat about 10mins into a journey, so upon pulling over to cool i saw it had lost water. same problem happens if its refilled. inittially i thaught head gasket! had a guy check it out and was pretty confident that it was NOT the head gasket but just the thermostat. i know its pretty common but just want bit more advice before i pull it appart???
thanks, winta

There are a few issues the older cars have, top plastic bits on the rad harden up and cause very small hairline cracks so you lose water that way, also radiators collapse and need replacing, then you could have some issues with old rubber pipes doing the same (hardening) and those need replacing, and of course you have the seal on the header tank that goes....
