I have a MY98 type R and was wondering what diff was on there please as standard?
160 or 180?
The reason being as im fitting a 6 speed soon and need to know if the 6 speed diff needs to be put on or i can leave it in place?
If its a 180 then i asume the type r was also have the larger shafts as standard?
Thanks peeps.

Ok so ill put the 6 speed diff in and use existing shafts.
Whats the difference between the two 180 diffs then?

Final drive ratio (the key bit) and the diff type itself. You'll probably need a 3.9 rear diff to match a 6MT, while your current one should be a plated LSD. Newage R180s can be Suretrak, plated, think some are helical too.
