i changed the batteries in my fob is it the blue one if so keep trying it should work can you not open doors with keys there should be a pincode in your service manuel which you can type into the keypad on the right hand side off dash to de activate

If you don't have the PIN, then it'll be a dealer only fix.
If you had the PIN, or even just from using one of your fob's when they were working, you could have re-programmed the PIN to a code of your choice.
The only other problem it may be, but I'm sure it was fixed on Bugeyes, is "radio lockout". Its where a mobile phone tower, or radio tower from a hospital, police station etc, blocks the remotes signal. IF, a big IF, it is that, then you can push/tow the car somewhere else and try it.

As has been said the Subaru alarm is a good one - and indeed Sigma and Toad are, as far as I'm aware, two brands within the same company - to the point that many of their accessories are compatible with both. As such a bit bizarre to hear someone getting rid of one alarm unnecessarily only to replace it with something that's likely to be very similar under the skin.
If you can't get your car to the dealer, the obvious remedy would be to get the same fitter you've booked to change the alarm to reset the PIN (or, if push comes to shove, fit a new controller) for your Sigma unit. The bill will be much smaller.

My alarm did exactly the same thing a couple of years ago. I didn't have the PIN either.. I managed to reset the alarm myself with a bit of advice from a chap on SIDC (SigmaSam).
There was nothing wrong with the alarm, just the fob required re-coding to the alarm for some reason ? It has been perfect since.
