Default resonator on classic

Hi All

Wanting to keep the stock airbox in place & drop a do-luck panel filter in.
However i was just wondering if anyone knows of a bit of pipework that can be exchanged for the resonator box like you would if an induction kit was fitted?

Thanks

I too looked at doing this mod last year, on researching i found the only gain would be cosmitic. Roger clark does a Samco turbo intake pipe but even this is in two parts so you will still need the res box or a bodge pipe with a branch for the breather.
here

As for the lucky duck panel filter I see the test results, but no mention of filtration propities. We know KnN, Green and Cosworth for example work very well in both increased flow and filtration so why risk the unknown All imho.

Why do you want to drop a Do-Luck panel filter in? If it's on the basis of a recent magazine article, you would do well to take B13's advice, especially if your engine bay still contains a MAF sensor.

I have the MY93-96 MRT all-metal black res. delete pipe and the the 90deg MAF and turbo silicone hoses (blue).

The res. pipe still retains the OEM idle breather and BCS's bleed return ports, but the turbo silicone doesn't have any oil breather or DV ports - just plain smooth.

You can have the res. pipe and 2 silicones for £79 delivered.

I'll also throw in a K&N cone air filter for free (in case you want to do away with the airbox and get a remap, etc...)

thanks for the info & offers guys.

I'm looking at the do-luck panel filter as i have always gone for hks/green/k&n in the past & fancied a change & yes due to the mag article of the apparent good flow of the filter i thought why not!? was also going to look at the do-luck rad pipes & brake lines, always regarded them as a good company?
Will probably knock that one on the head then.
What about scoobyworld afterburner panel filter?

Joz - thanks for the offer & yeh its a bargain but can not afford at the moment im just getting plans in place & currently purchasing coil packs etc :-(

Why not? IMO Because the test methodology and results in that article sound more than a little dubious, and secondly because the construction of the Do-Luck filter (liquid-loaded synthetic foam) is a type that has been known in the past to cause both inconsistent filtration performance and mass airflow sensor contamination (when the filter liquid/"mucus" gets sucked off into the induction tract).

It may be that this particular design has been fixed in some ways not to exhibit those issues, but on the other hand, even if we are to take the test results at face value, it offers a measly 1bhp more than filters known to function efficiently and safely over long periods of time. On that basis I would rather choose a filter I can rely on with sufficient confidence to basically forget about, and remember that there are easier, less risky ways to get more power.

No experience of it. Given the considerations above, as much as you fancy a change, I'd suggest that this is one area where going for what you know works is a good philosophy.
