Default Quick Valve sump plug

Had this little device pointed out to me, Its a replacement sump plug that allows oil to be drained from the sump without removing the sump plug - has anyone used one/got one, are they any good?

http://www.quickvalve.co.uk/subaru.htm

It says it has been granted "genuine part" status from Subaru

Think of all the savings in sump washers !

It'll all end in tears I tell thee.... unless that optional spring clip actually does it job by not allowing the release lever to turn.

A potententially dangerous gimmick IMO - forget it.

This sums it up!

At least with a normal sump plug/washer, once it's done up = no leaking = no worries.

With that other thing, it will invariably be in your head, "Oh, I wonder if the lever has got dislodged, etc., etc....?"

Time for a Ghostbusters quote:

Venkman: Egon, this reminds me of the time you tried to drill a hole in your head ?

Egon: It would have worked too if you hadn't of stopped me........................................
