Default Decat downpipe = Remap??

If I were to fit a decat downpipe to my 1995 WRX system would I need a remap, or would it be ok to plug and play???
My system only has a precat lambda and a cat fire sensor.

I was planning on relocating my lambda to the downpipe, what can be done about the fire sensor

leave your lambda in the up pipe. tie up the cat on fire sensor. you dont need it (you will have no cat!) the blanking plug at the top of the pipe is for later cars. cant think why you would want to move the lambda.

Been told that the lambda is better there for some reason.

So wouldn`t need a remap though??

i think it would, as the gases in the turbo are more free flowing, therefore the car builds boost quicker than it thinks it can, this is boost spike.

lots of peoplerun pre 96 cars will full decat and have had no runnign problems.
its the later cars that need a remap after a decat.
of course a remap on any car with a decat will make the most of the modification.

I will be getting her remapped when I can get new injectors a FMIC and a few other bits done, just wanted to know if there was any issues fitting the decat before??

I personally don`t think there would be, as all the sensors are pre cat ones, and the up pipe is cat less. And that the extra "flow" form less restriction would be picked up by the MAF?? Just checking to be safe though.
