Bottom End going - Suggested options?
Ok.. so I had this happen before about 3-4 years ago..
So... having had the engine rebuilt once already its been suggested I purchase a newer engine (from Subaru) or someone reputable.... or have one built up for me. What ya think? Any suggestions?
Hhis is for a '98 classic wrx Sti with existing modifications such as ported and polished heads and lightened flywheel and uprated fuel pump. Its also got strengthened conrod's so I'm kinda of surprised this has happened.. definite piston slap.. and the bottom end sounds like its going to be on the way out...
Obviously want a low mileage engine, so I need somewhere reliable and professional who arent going to sell me an engines thats done 100K or whatever..
Also has been suggested I change ECU from Apexi to HKS or a Hydra for a more reliable map.
Budget? Around the 5K mark is available..... what yall reckon? realisistic? anywhere I should look at? should I just get it rebuilt again???
Any suggestions or options on what might be best to do would be most appreciated!
Cheers
