Ok plese help and i appologise if this stuff hase been said befor, but i think something is up with me car

Its regarding the dawes AFR

Its been working fine for weeks, and a day ago this started happening.

Any gear WOT Blue (yey) so thats fine

her is the freeky stuff

Rev the car (standing still) and the lights move up the colours (as normal), rev HARD and you get blue (yey agin) all ok so far.

As the revs fall back down, so do the lights, (yey still normal)

when it gets to tick over BANG bluelight for about 5-0 seconds, and then it turns off,.th elights dance, they flow from red to blue, hold at blue for few seconds and then drop back through to red, looks like knight rider. at idle ther should be no lights (is i understand)

I know this aint right, and dont have the tools or skills to test the unit for defects.

Rewired it, and it does the same, even picked a new live point and new earth point, does exactly the same.

Please any help would help oads as my car looks amess right now.

The Knight Rider effect is normal though at idle or low revs/load - it is closed loop - I thought you said it was staying on blue all the time?

it was mate, sorry to be so confusing, but at one point the blue light for almost 5 min, until i turned engine off.

Now i get the pretty disco lights, almost in a beet, red to blue, hold for a few secs, back down to red, then repeat.

It never did this at first just the odd red/yellow flutter on idle.

Depends on what blue is set for. Mine doesn't go that high on idle.

What you are seeing is normal under idle conditions, and varies slightly between vehicles. As the ECU corrects mixture at idle, based on O2 feedback, the mixture will actually swing back and forth between rich and lean (to varying degrees). So, you may see a condition of no lights, followed by a blue or other light. Keep in mind that the sensor has about a 1/4 sec response time and that the meter is damped to about 1/3 sec (otherwise it gets somewhat difficult to read). If it makes you more comfortable, you can verify this with a DVM on the sensor output. Don't use an analog meter, as the input impedance of most is not high enough. You can also get a blue light at idle by removing and plugging the line to the fuel pressure regulator (if equipped). Hope this helps.
