Hello

I have a very concerning noise on my MY00.
When I reverse and then put my foot on the brakes there is a clonk noise that comes from the front of the car somewhere.
It does it both when I reverse in reverse gear and if I just roll back in neutral so I assume its nothing to do with the gearbox.

It seems to be worse the further and/or faster I go backwards.

Any Ideas?
Regards
Steve

it's probably the front pads as when they are replaced you get a shim to go down the side but when they are the originals theres no shim which can cause a clonking noise as the pads move slightly

If thats the case, and i hope it is something as simple as that, why does it not seem to do it the first time I brake when going forwards after going backwards and braking?
Does that make sense?

Thanks
Steve

I have to say mine does this as well....

Slight reversing and CLUNK without a doubt from the brakes!

I have a MY01 13000 Kms it's done this from new!

Maybe I should get it checked cos I guess brakes are useful!
