Hello everyone, i own a 2007 hawkeye WRX with the PPP including the exhaust system. I am interested in changing the downpipe and catpipe to some "decat" pipes, but i read somewhere that changing them with the PPP fitted is useless since it already replaces the cat. I'm a bit confused since i thought that the Prodrive exhaust was only the back box and centre pipe, and since i'm a total noobie to these subjects i humbly beg for your wise advices in order to actually make my car roar as load as it drives... Thanks

The PPP remap is designed for the Prodrive exhaust, changing the exhaust would suggest also getting a remap. Had my PPP equipped hawkeye upgraded with Powerstation's stage 1 kit, they were only able to change the exhaust day 1 and then remap on day 2. Driving it between having the exhaust swapped and the remap wasn't too comfy, possibly psychological in that the louder exhaust note suggested I should be getting more power than I was feeling. I was advised though to drive off boost with the new exhaust until the remap was done, to avoid trashing the engine. Long story short, don't swap the exhaust without a remap
FWIW, I found the PPP map quite conservative, possibly because it's one size fits all rather than a bespoke tune, possibly because of warranty concerns. It was producing about 270bhp and tailed off a bit after 5000 rpm or so. The powerstation upgrade gave me 290bhp but more importantly kept going up to the redline. I recommend it

You are correct on the hawkeye the dowmpipe cat is not replaced for ppp.
It was on the previous blobeye etc hence people saying it is replaced with ppp.
As daijones says it will need a remap withcthese exhaust changes
