as above, im just wondering whether this is a decat exhaust on my wrx. the pic is a bit vague but you can see a weld on the pipe, and i think it is stainless steel. so im guessing its an aftermaket ??




i took the car to get rolling roaded and it had 255 bhp, not bad for a wrx as i think they are 208 standard? stainless steel exhaust ( i think decat) sti intercooler (possibly sti turbo) k+n panel filter and i think it has had a remap

would all these make 255bhp? just trying to figure out what parts are on the car, thanks

 

Really hard to see tbh but I think it looks like a de-cat to me. If it was a cat it should be wider imo. Doesn't look very stainless to me though but could still be (just needs a polish ).

 

What model year(version 1 - 6) is your wrx ,as they never made them std with 208 bhp,that was the uk version .Wrx's are minimum 220bhp and that is if it was a wagon. The saloons were 240 280 bhp std depending on the year of manufacture.
Regarding the decat your normal cat downpipe does not have heatwrap attached to it ,so my guess it is a decat ,but picture not really showing you much,only the 2 x top turbo bolts

 

Decat mate by the looks of the welding, better pic would be better though.

I would imagine its a uk car. So it wont have a version number. 2003 should be 225bhp standard.

 

Seeing as the d/p is wrapped, it's highly likely that a previous owner has fitted a decat one. And possibly had it mapped too!

But that's just guessing - as said, you need to get a good pic from under the car...

 

moved the wrap slightly and got a better pic, looks like its a decat, its stainless steel. what do you all think that is giving me 255bhp then? must have been mapped then? il take a pic of the graph from the rollng road.
