Default CDB Vs ODB And Semi Differences

I've done a search but can't find a definitive answer.

What are the differencies and or advantages between the CDB and the others. I see that engine builders prefer them for their strength, but how is this achieved.

All information appreciated

I'm not

Was doing a bit of research on mine and found it has a CDB, so was just interested in the differencies and how they are stronger.
