boost solanoid
Hi, been having boost problems. Started on very cold mornings at the begining of this year. When pulling through the revs at about 4k the boost would drop(about 5 psi) then all was fine again. Now I have this problem all the time. I have put the two green blocks together and the fans and other things go in test mode as they should but I cant hear a dikiebird from the boost solanoid. Is it fooked? and would this cause the issue I seem to be having? Thanks in advance, Tez

Have you put your ear right up to the BCS under the bonnet when running the diagnostic check (rather than trying to listen for it in the driver seat?

Apply a 12 volt supply to the terminals will allow you to test if it phisically working on its own but this will not test the rest of the boost control system, you will have to make and break the 12v connection to get it to open and close, it would be worth fitting a clean length of pipe to the inlet port (side port) and attempt to blow through the solenoid as you function it ensuring that you can blow through it when power is applied and not when power is removed.
