Help-Which remap?
Hi guys, looking at all the info around on remaps...for the uk 2.0 wrx sti on a 05 plate-basically is prodrive king or has anyone compared cars with different remaps (with similar power outputs for the prodrive one)-are they all different or basically all the same for the money??? Help I'm new on the scene Also do gas shocks need replacing-do they leak like the old oil filled ones-worth doing every 30k or waste of money unless bounce test fails-thanks for any advice-Tommaso

The prodrive map is a generic map and therefore rolled out to all ppp cars of the same version etc.. therefore has a lot of safety margin in to allow for differences in tollerances on engine parts, running in procedure, fuel pump tollerances etc etc..
A custom remap to suit your car is by far the best and safest way to get useable power from it.
However the ppp does include for 05 sti a sportscat downpipe which is fairly good.
However for the cost if you bought a sportcat downpipe and then had that fitted and a remap it would be a lot cheaper and a faster car than with ppp.
ppp is great if the car is still in warrentee but otherwise expensive for the gain imho.
