Default faulty camshaft sensor

would a faulty cam sensor cause a car to hold back on boost now and then.

In a word no, but it depends, if its 'failing' it could do a lot of things but generally no mate.

every now and then it wont start it has brought up the fault code for this and i have had a look at it and dont look that bad,but looks can be decieving,everytime it dont start i wiggle the wires and it starts,the wires to it look ok and dont look like any damage to the casing but will be having a looklater on in the week.

The none starting issue is defo related then... try SMR subaru breakers for one or buy a new one.. Take off the 1 or two belts for alternator and air con and check the wiring, re do it if you need to, as it may be the wiring and not the sensor.

plan on buying a new one if need be wont waste money on a second hand one as dont no how long it will last
