Default Fault code p0172

Hi I have a cel with the code P0172 I took to Subaru and they done a diagnostics saying it was the front lambda sensor. So replaced this reset ecu and 20miles later ping cel and same code. Anyone had a similar code? My dv sounds different not as loud but boost holds fine. Could the map sensor cause this as when I had car mapped the guy said it was playing up but again I told Subaru this and there diagnostics said it was fine? Just trying to get to the bottom of this without spending money I don't need to " Subaru and the lambda sensor"

Cheers

Lee

Yeah so anyone know of what normally causes this issue? Is rich to much fuel?

Yes, Rich is too much fuel and Lean is not enough

Probablly due to the DV at a guess if it`s a VTA DV, The Maf is reading a certain amount of airflow so sends through the appropriate amount of fuel, But seeing as the DV is releasing the air there will be more fuel than required for the amount of air and the Ecu can not adjust within the parameters it is given so flags up a CEL, Only a guess though

Assuming you still have it fitted, it could well be your HKS SSQ DV - they don't have a very good reputation and, IIRC, can stick.

Might be worth refitting an oem one?

Hmmm...I think it might matter, yes. Maybe worth cleaning/checking/adjusting the HKS perhaps?

Will try taking it apart and cleaning it may try oem one as it may get rid of cel.

I have heard Lambda sensors should be replaced every 50,000 or so as they get "lazy".
That is what the manufactures say anyhow
