Default Hi copmression pistions

Hi all, not sure if posted in the right section, as some of you know i have a 1.6 impreza, i want to turn it awd, but as it seems the only difference between the 1.6 and the 1.8 are the stroke size. So what i was thinking of doing is using a 1.8 crank and rods on mine (only because i have a 1.8 that has warped heads) engine number still reads ej16e etc, just wondered if anyone know were to get hi compression pistons for a 1.6 or 1.8 if they exist?
Thanks in advance
Luke

You have an N/A engine, why do you want (or even need) high compression pistons?

Vtecs run comparitively high comp ratios for an N/A car.

Its not a vtec, its a subaru 1.6ltr engine, you dont need high comp pistons.

Do high comp pistons in N/A engines give more power? Or am I being thick?
Not really sure why its relevant to converting it to AWD though?

awd doesnt affect the comp ratio whatsoever. Comp ratio is dependant on turbo or none turbo and your fuel / air mix and power.

I remember from my honda days fitting the higher compression pistons from the jap ek9 type r was supposed to give about 15bhp. Regards a subaru application have you tried impreza sport.net? Are you sure you mean AWD and not AVCS or something, especially as you mention warped heads.
