Default crank sensor c.e.l

guys, just done my 6monthly oil change and before i started it i unplugged the crank sensor (a tip i was told on here) to allow the oil to circulate before firing up but after reconnecting it and starting it the light stayed on.
will this go off on its own or do i have to get it removed??
the post i read which told of this tip didnt mention anything about the light staying on

2001 bug.

It's just the slightly flakey DENSO ECU on the Bugeye WRX throwing it's toys out of the pram !!............... light should go out after about 5 starts
