Default Exhausts

I need HELP, I've have just phoned up scoobyparts as they have a nice deal on a de-cat down pipe for the new age impreza. I asked if it needed modifying to fit my car? I have a 2002 bug eye sti import. He said it wouldnt fit at all and I would need a classic down pipe to fit my car. Is this true, Help needed?

Could be a misunderstanding ? perhaps they thought it was twinscroll being JDM but that's not the case with yours IIRC. Doesn't explain why you would need a classic DP ? how odd

Hi,

I just put a cobra system on my wrx. It's off my mates sti, it's from the turbo back and when the fitted it they rook it for a test drive and the steering rack was catching on the exhaust. Had to take it off and make a indentation on the exhaust so that the steering rack would pass. Mine is a 2.5 wrx so not sure on the difference with the fitments.

pre my05 jdm newage have a classic length centre pipe and 1 piece downpipe, so if you are retaining your centre section you need a classic length downpipe, if you are changing centre then you need a uk length centre section with newage uk downpipe, the twinscroll just adds more confusion as this is also available as a one piece with a classic length centre pre my05 and post my05 has a uk centre section length with a 2 piece downpipe same physical lengths as a 2.5 uk car just the bellmouth suits twin scroll and the centre piece has a resonator and no cat. So to put it simply scoobyparts are correct in their statement but you can get round it if you are changing the centre section as well. Hope this clarifys things a bit
