Default Flutter noise when backing off

Iv just had a GT2 FMIC and k&n fitted, im getting it mapped on monday. Iv only been driving really slow but when i back off it makes a flutter noise and at higher revs it flutters before the DV hiss. Is this normal due to now having an induction kit?
I was hopeing the noise would go when i get it mapped? I have a Turbosmart DV i could try winding it in or out?

yep its normal, the noise your hearing is turbo stall. If you made it easyer for dump valve to blow off this would stop. I love the noise and run a dump valve delete so get it all the time

Doing a dump valve delete to my type r, How does the car drive??? Do you get a jerky feeling when coming off the accelerator??? We did this mod to my brothers STi when he fitted a front mount, and even though it sounded nice (flutter)the car didnt drive to well. But he was using the standard ecu with MAF sensor etc.

So I was wondering what it would be like with my type r using a aftermarket ecu which is mafless.

Good to hear that the car runs better with the dv delete.

running a dv delete is suppost to improve the lag, which it does. the only down side ive found from using this set up is that it uses more fuel. maybe mapping could fix this problem.

So what your saying is that the car spools up quicker due to having no recirc/atmos dump valve???

Is the "fluttering" noise not waste gate chatter accentuated by the induction kit?????

Noo, it be the air being forced back over the turbine blades. Has it has nowhere else to go because you have deleted the escape route, see.

yep, the pressuere is already there so no waiting, instant boost

td series and vf 34 upwards are suppost to be able to run valve less. maff sensors arnt to keen on the idea of air being pushed the wrong way through the system. if your hardware is in good condition you wont have any problems. but be prepared it will take 30-40 miles of a fill.

steve i wasnt even going to mod this one and promised myself it would be my first unmodded car.....that lasted about a day i'm purposely not keeping a running total of spend!

turbo power is available a lot quicker with the dv delete, I guess the blades must still be spinning, and spinning quicker. I have no way of measuring it but on my route from work home i have to brake harder on the corners : )

Mine is going to plan. Fully intended to mod mine but only to 'optimise' the performance, within the factory limits. Due to her age, i don't want push the internals, and also being an early example which i intend to hang onto, i didn't want to do anything that would take away the originality, ie injectors, fmic, turbo etc. So, have gone as far as i want now with power mods and it is time to concentrate on detailing, not my favorite hobby but very rewarding once you stand back.
I hide my total spend and just will not look at it until i can goto the car without thinking, 'ar yeah, i could do that'.
