plated rear diff

can anyone tell me how i can tell if i have a plated rear diff

From: FB Tuning Workshop - HP27

Take the rear filler plug out of the back cover, shine a torch inside the diff casing, and you should be able to see if the diff unit inside is plated or not

l reg wrx but just fitted sti version 5 box and diff
