Default Best ecu upgrade?

Looking to get some more power out of my classic uk 2000. I have decat, panel filter and walbro pump. Ive heard mixed opinions on buying a wrx ecu, or just mapping what i have. Any ideas?

What year is your car as this will help us suggest either remapping standard ecu (if it can be) or going for a stand alone one.

ESL do a daughterboard for your ECU. for a bit more money you could have ECUTEK or SimTek. If you wanted to go the whole hog there is MoTec or Solaris(Syvecs).

It all depends on budget tbh.

I would say ESL board and remap is the best cheapest option

If you still have the factory ECU fitted, then fitting just about any of the other 4 plug units will give you a little more.
The Z4 a straight swop, but the Z5, and iirc 6k and 7k have a higher rev limiter so you have to look out for that.

As Duncan says, it all depends on your budget.

aye as banny says, suposed to have been in the works for going on 18 months now, but still no sign of it. major flaw if you ask me cos by the time you have reacted to the flash could be all to late.

Add the price of them on to the price of a simtek and you're into the syvecs price range......
