Default turbo questions

Hi, I'm new to turbo engines, and I've done research with not much joy.

Basically my scoob is at scooby clinic for warranty repair and while its there I'm tempted to get some work done to make the long drive worthwhile.

I've been looking at their billet turbos and hopefully someone can give me some info. The model I have is a 98 wrx type R, which atm is standard. Which turbo would you recommend? And also what the difference between the different ones, for example the SC36 Billet Turbo (16g) and the 20g?.

Or would you recommend their simtek ecu?

If you dont have an aftermarket ecu, its no point in changing turbo as you need to have the car remapped and i doubt the clinic would fit a turbo for you without explaining to you that the first mod you need to carry out is a mapable ecu. The simtek is the choice i went for, but if you have a bit more cash you could go for the syvecs which is in a league of its own.

Ah right, thanks for the info, ill have to discuss with them when the scoob is repaired. Maybe a billet too , I'm very tempted with one after seeing the power curves and reliability.

what sort of power would I get do you think? With a aftermarket ecu and possibly one of they're billets. Its currently 288 on their rollers.
