Default restrictor pill................

hi guys, car has been overboosting quite bad, its a 97 wrx import, i did read some threads on the type of pills so on doing a bit of research and understanding that the smaller the hole in the pill the more boost.

with the pill in it was boosting upto 1.6 on the gauge then hitting fuel cut,
today i have taken out the pill and went for a run, its now boosting to 0.6
max which is safe lol.
my question is how to increase the size of the hole in the pill so i can get
boost levels to 1.0-1.1? what tool to use (i have no drill bits that small!!)

thanks in earnest

i'd say get a bleed valve or boost controller..and then you can forget about the pill..
and why do you need that much boost?? .6 is ok..

It might be worth buying some mig welding tips in various diameters and seeing which size gives you the boost nearest to what you require.

You can get the drill bits in a set from somewhere like Maplins but I have done the same only to find the chuck on my drill ( a decent Makita by the way ) will not grip a bit less than about 1.3mm in size.
Best bet is to use an eyeglass with measurements to determine exactly what size your existing pill is so you can decide what size you want, as it may be easier then to buy one from Subaru ( limited range available ) or get a small one bored out by an engineering shop.

Not 100% sure but don't you have A 2mm pill in as standard, have you change any thing on the car like downpipe.
