sti8 tmicto hibrid fmic
hi all im going to start using my99 uk turbo for trackdays as i carnt sell it and want to no what the best set up for me would be.
I no there are lots of threads just like this but i want to be sure that its the right set up for my car,
my car is currently using a td05 16g
440s
walbro
fpr
apexi air filter
sti8 intercooler with bonet scoop and under tray
ecuteck remap
running 341bhp
I no people say that top mounts suffer heat soak so i have heat rapped the down pipe and fitted a turbo jacket plus the origanal heat sheild, i have raised the bonnet about 30mm also to let the heat out faster, im also looking into fiting the water spayer on the sti8 tmic.
With all this would i benefit from a fmic still ?

yes as the air coming in is cool all the time, and you would make slightly more power because of all the ignition advance that can be put in, although i would think your 440's are maxed anyway.

I would keep it at that power. Given you are on standard internals and a standard box.
Spend the money on regular oil changes, tyres and the rest of track related expense.
If you want to spend money..throw it at the brakes and/or suspension.
And just do as much as you can to keep the cool bits cool and the hot bits hot
