Default no boost at all help pleaseeeeeeeee

hi i have a 1995 wrx turbo and few days a go my wife was driving the car and she said that suddenly the dump valve stopped working obviously that meant no boost.
I thought one of the vaccum pipes or boost pipes must have come off and i had a look at every single one and everything seems ok no splits
a day later as i was driving home suddenly boost kicked in and it was fine for a day
then next day suddenly again loss of boost and its been like that for the passed few days

i checked the actuator
changed the d/v for another working one still nothing
took the downpipe off to look at the waste gate and the turbine all good no play and closes and seals
i am baffled few of my mates had a look at it and still nothing
the turbo is simply not spooling up

can anyone help please
thankyou for any help

Default boost

try running the vac pipe on the actuator direct to the turbo and blank everything else off for the moment a take for a drive it should boost to about 0.5 bar / 7-8psi if this is ok sounds like you have a problem on the electrical side ie solenion or sensor or possibly ecu fault,

Best to get a replacement 16g from harvey or AF.

AF does a discount when you send him your knackered one (so long as the housings are sound). Plus his 16g has been fettled to bring in boost a bit earlier:-

http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/16307.html

AFP5-16 - is based on the 90 degree inlet TD05 16G from the 93-96 cars and can also be converted to front entry to suit 97 onward cars. This turbo is very popular on installations aiming for up to 340bhp. It is available as a fully re-manufactured unit or new. This turbo will typically spool up to 1 bar boost by 3000rpm and full boost by 3300rpm.

£350 exchange or £600 new outright (includes 12 months warranty)

Prob best just to stick with a 16g and get the remap - should see 330+bhp. Which is more than enough, given your 15yo WRX internals/drivetrain!

Get an AF one, and you won't go wrong - it'll last years...

Your existing turbo can possibly be rebuilt but without seeing it I have no idea as to costings but typically £250 with a front entry cover, new compressor wheel and overhaul kit including bearings.
