the TD05 16G is the std turbo on the Early WRX.... it won't be pushing 300bhp... 280bhp tops, but real world on the road I would say 260bhp

ok thanks for the fast replys everyone would you say it was well set up then and what would it take to make it up to 300bhp? possibly a decat and boost valve help?and what power would a vf24 turbo be on this setup?

td05 will make the same kind of power as vf24. To get more power you need to up the boost but I think you will hit fuel cut. If you want more power I would say you need to change the ecu, fit a boost controller and get it mapped

The turbo you have is more than a match for the VF24, it is certainly a stronger turbo, the TD's are great turbos, the TD05 16G is good for 320bhp. I don't think the VF24 will reliably run 300bhp because it can't hold the boost required... I could be wrong

To get that sort of power from that car you are going to need :

Bigger injectors
STI top mount or Front mount
Remap
Sports Cat DP or De-Cat DP
and straight through from the DP.

That's for a safe 300bhp

Ok thanks again everyone so would 440cc injectors do the trick and would my fuel consumption go down? and can you suggest a good place to get it remapped. Thanks

Std, the official figure for a MY94 WRX saloon is 240PS (237bhp). But the Z4 replacement ECU is from a MY95/96 WRX saloon (I think) and is 260PS (256bhp). So yours will be putting out c.250-260bhp.

The 16g and 3-port are std items. The others, aftermarket (obviously).

If you stick a decat downpipe on (if you haven't one already) and fit a ESL Live daughterboard and get a remap, you should make around 280bhp and similar lb ft - and importantly, much improved drivability... And safely! (The turbo is actually capable of c.340bhp, but your 380cc injectors and tiny TMIC limit you to that 280 odd).

You won't need to change to 440s (or bigger), until you change your TMIC (for a FMIC or later OEM/aftermarket bigger TMIC).

JGM can supply ESL and map it for you. He can map it wherever you want e.g. near you on the road, or at a rolling road (just ask him what rr roads he uses)...

.
You think correct, this is one of the first mods I did to my 93WRX

So like I said mate, see my list of mods, you need these to hit 300bhp To be honest this turbo will never hit 340bhp on this car, there are far to many other things limiting it, most of the all the upper boost limit, you won't get it mapped for more than 1.4bar top end tailing down to 1.25 maybe and that is all providing the actuator is in good condition, you may need to replace this to hold high boost!

Oh and ESL..... VERY nice boards, defo the board to have!
