Default more power

hi people

i have a v3 sti import and i have a few mods...

3" turbo back exhaust and up pipe
pipa cross induction
front mount
blitz boost controller
walbro fuel pump

love the car but im getting greedy for more power

i am planning on getting a simtec so i know i wont need the boost controller. not sure on what i exactly need to do to get it to round 350-400ish bhp and also not sure if standard internals and gearbox will be ok

was maybe thinking injectors and a turbo up grade.

your help would be great full. thanks kev

You'd need a turbo, probably fuel pump and injectors to fuel it, ECU for remap, Harvey ported and wrapped headers and up-pipe work well too.

internals may well be OK at 350 bhp not sure about more, the 5 speed box doesn't like 350bhp / lb ft if I recall right, snapped my 3rd gear at 363 bhp / 330 lbft on my 95 wagon classic with steel rods, forged pistons, TD05/06 20G hybrid turbo, tubular headers, apexi PFC, 3" turbo back decat etc.

Hi matey you will need at least 550cc injectors(with FPR will be ideal),genuine TD05-18G(which good for 360BHP),TD05-20G(which with supported mods will make 400BHP).
Simtek ECU have good boost control and about boost controller you will see,if you need.
About the gearbox, this will be big risk,if its hold bhp and torque, but without trying you never know, what happen and what not.

Start with a fuel pump.
The STi 3 has forged Subaru pistons so aiming for 400 bhp is not an issue.
Choice of turbos and their potential VF34 (360), TD05 18G (360), TD05 20G (380 plus),
With all of these you will need 550cc injectors.
Ported headers and matched uppipe unless you might be going further at a later stage when you could consider tubular headers but on any of these turbos it would be a complete waste of time unless you got the special 3 bolt uppipe to go with the headers and this is a more expensive option.
On similar spec on STi 3 Wagon with TY754 box I was producing 382 bhp on one of my TD05 20Gs.
Your TY752 gearbox will break in time but that is easily rectified with a TY754.

Thanks. Harvey how much would it set me back for your headers and up pipe. Ive also heard that api can match my 440 injectors to 550 so is that a good thing or not...

I would say that mapped up as if you would be happy for a while.. and then could add turbo, injectors, fmic etc at a later date.. maybe.. mind you there is no such thing as too much power

Your yellow 440s restrict power to around 325 bhp so you need 550s to go much beyond that which will see you all the way to nearly 400 bhp or a bit more if you are lucky but your limiting factor then will be what turbo and other mods you have.
Ported headers exchange all DEI heat wrapped with a new stainless steel slip jointed uppipe also DEI heat wrapped with five new Subaru studs is £369 plus £12.50 delivery or we fit here for £75.
