Default H6 Spark Plug Change

Thought I'd give the beast a treat and change it's plugs but panic every time I have a go. Reading the threads can't find anything about H6s Any one got any tips. If it's the same as the 4 cylinders I'll remove air filter battery and go in from the top. Looks very tight though. Will it take more than an hour. I have good basic tools. 1/2 " set though. Thanks in advance Mike

Mike,

the trick is to have the right length extension etc..

you may find with 1/2" that the flexi joint and plug socket are the right length, depending on make you might need to lay the ratchet in the end of the flexi now pushed fully home as the flexi is really slightly smaller. But yes h6 is same as 4 cylinder just 2 more.. may find the first time you do it you may need to remove the battery and washer bottle for space.

might be worth having an investigation first to see if you have the right length tools as it really does make a job easy or hard.

I would say it would take an hour once upto speed doing it but mostlikely a couple first time.

Many thanks. Is it worth going in from underneath as I'm doing an oil change as well. Mike

Find it easier from the top but have a look and see what you think

Easier from underneath. I like working on my back! The problem is the caps are as the turbo model according to my manual and need to be unbolted then pulled. Sussed that and made a tool for pulling them out only to find I didn't have tha correct size socket 16mm I think I need. So off to Halfords. Glad they only need doing every 70k. My knuckles look as though I've been punching a brick wall afternoon. They feel like it too. Still its worth it. Best car I've ever had.(previous include TRs Landrovers Volvos Porche) Still got a Stag though. Do proper workshop manuals exist. This Haynes thing is all back to front and inside out.
Thanks for your support. Mike
