Default Disable my engine...

Folks,
Much as I love my WRX, crippling insurance and fuel costs (plus a wedding) have meant that I have decided to “mothball” my car for a few months. I live in a fairly high theft area and aside from a decent steering wheel lock which I have, can anyone recommend a quick plug/lead to pull out in the engine bay so that the thing will not start?
It has a factory immobiliser but I just want to be extra careful as the car won’t be insured for theft so I don’t want someone helping themselves under any circumstances!
Thanks,
Marc.

Get a snap off steering wheel and have a secretly located push start fitted. This is what ill be doing withou a doubt. No steering wheel and its not going anywhere

Pull the lead off the crank position sensor.

as alcazar said, it wont run at all then, or you could remove the fusible link wire from the fuse box under the bonnet (cuts power to ign/ecu circuits)

When I leave my Impreza for a while I take the ECU out and put the carpet back down so they don't know

I'd do the lot. ECU out, battery off and pull the conectors off as many sensors you can see!

Unfortunately none of the above will prevent the car being dragged or lifted. If you're not insured, I'd consider a security post if its kept on your drive. How much is theft only insurance?
